Birthday Bash in May 2005

May 2005 was a significant month when I reached the (private) pension's age. Ten years previously I celebrated my HALF-CENTURY at Tewinbury  Farm so I thought that it would be a good idea to follow it up and stage another International Bash in the same place to honour my 'coming of age'. I invited 60 guests (I wonder why?) from the past and present, of many nationalities, to share with me the joy of being officially retired from the 'rat race'. Prior to the event all guests had received a special invitation designed by my son Joseph:

The spectators from the left are:

Vlasta, Thomas, Iva, Jozka, Jara (with the flag), Jirina, Joseph, Gemma, Andrew, Brian, Tereza, Mandy, Matt, Klarka, Veronika, Lesley, Ben, Luke, Mark and Karen

The text read:

…. MAY DAY!  MAY DAY !

Come and help to celebrate !!!

on Sunday 1st May 2005

from 14:30 onwards

For various reasons I couldn't have with me all brothers and sisters, my Czech family was represented by my oldest brother Thomas who came with his grandson David. I shall continue my celebration in the Czech Republic with my family and friends sometimes this summer. My brother Jara had sent me a personal birthday card

The bash at Tewinbury Farm was a great success. The weather was gorgeous, the venue was excellent and the surrounding was picturesque. I brought our digital camera with me BUT forgot to use it (I meant to delegate someone to do the job, but my memory failed - due to my progressed age). Therefore I haven't go many pictures from the party. My brother Thomas filmed the whole thing and is preparing a DVD which will be available later this year.

Brief (well, briefish) speech indoors

Three doctors (Bozena, David and Barbara)

My drinking/tennis pal Derek, his wife Trish and camera shy Jo

Aftermath ... brief visit to the place the following day with my brother Thomas

I am waiting for more pictures. Once I get them I shall put them into the ALBUM.
