Five years ago Andrew, at the age of 10, joined a football club in St Albans. The reason I wanted him to play there was because I liked the young manager who ran it. His name was Paul Clarke. The team started in the lowest division of the Bushey (now Watford)  league, but it was already obvious that Paul had very talented and dedicated bunch of lads who promoted straight away to the higher division in their first season. The other teams warned them that they would have problems to stay higher and will be relegated back 'where they belong'. Well, they not only survived the higher level, they immediately promoted again, not only once, but four times in the last five years, twice as Champions !

The year when they missed promotion Paul strengthened his team with 4 players from the top division and on April 24 this year the team became officially the White Division Champions for the year 2005. It will be tough at the very top, but no doubt Paul will know how to cope with new pressures.

The boys who strengthen our team were, from the left Ben Hutton, Charlie Burgon, Zak Wallis and Eathon Hughes,

For the last match of the season our opposition,  unfortunately, did not turn up, so we staged a friendly match of mixed teams (youngsters and parents). After the match we  celebrated with a 'bubbly'. Here are some snaps from that happy day.

I had a tough job keeping an eye on Ben Hutton
